Support the Dr. Daniel Moellentin Husson University Memorial Scholarship Fund

Dr. Daniel Moellentin, PharmD, BCPS joined the Husson University School of Pharmacy in August 2011 after 27 years as a Clinical Specialist in Internal Medicine and Clinical Coordinator at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and held licenses to practice pharmacy in both Missouri and Maine. His extensive experience in internal medicine focused on cardiology, nephrology, and hematology. He published in, and served as a reviewer for, several journals.

Dan’s colleagues describe him as a dedicated educator both in the classroom and the clinic. He was passionate about the important role educators play in helping students become qualified and caring healthcare professionals. He was always among the first to volunteer his time and expertise to advance students’ preparedness for pharmacy practice and he found great satisfaction in mentoring students to become evidence-based practitioners.

Outside of work, Dan enjoyed maintaining his historic home, the birth house of General Joshua Chamberlain in Brewer. Dan was a strong supporter of environmental efforts and historic preservation.  He served on an advisory committee for the Brewer City Council.

The Dr. Daniel Moellentin Husson University Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to preserve the legacy of Dr. Daniel Moellentin at Husson University. It is intended to be a true endowment that was established by Husson University with gifts raised by Husson faculty, staff, students and friends beginning in 2018. The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial aid support for Husson University School of Pharmacy students entering their P4 year with academic merit, who have interest in pursuing a career in clinical pharmacy.
